How We Started
A couple of regular guys, a DIY project, and a better idea.
ShawTech Lighting started with a simple goal: make permanent Christmas lights more affordable and easier to install. We wanted clean, reliable lighting for our own homes without the cost of a professional installation or the headache of figuring out every part ourselves.
That idea grew into DIY kits for other homeowners. Today, we develop our own controllers, software, and installation parts, with the same goal in mind: make the whole process simpler, from opening the box to turning on your lights.

Merlin
Merlin has been interested in electronics since he was young, from taking apart VCRs to working with computers at 16. At ShawTech, he puts that experience into designing controller electronics and developing our app. He enjoys turning complicated technical problems into practical tools that make the lights easier to use.
Cameron
Cameron comes from a quality engineering background, where his work focused on improving processes and making sure products met quality standards. At ShawTech, he brings that same approach to product design, installation parts, and instructions. His focus is making the kits reliable, easier to install, and simpler for customers to understand.
